After 6+ years of photographing beautiful little family, we decided to try something different this year — see if we could do an entire family session without a single “look at the camera” moment.
You see, family sessions can be stressful for everyone — even the kids. So we thought, what if we went to their favorite place and let them do their favorite thing: just. play. No posing, no directing, just organic, child-led joy. And it was better than we could have dreamed. There were no meltdowns, tears, or tantrums. The kids didn’t fight or get overwhelmed.
It. Was. Everything.
(See how much the kids have grown since our last session)

It was freezing cold with gale force winds.

With Mother’s Day coming up this weekend, I thought it was as good a time as any to get back into the rhythm of blogging. I don’t know how many people even scroll through these pages, but I sure love being able to look back upon images of GOOD times. If these strange days have taught me anything, it’s that there is a lot to be grateful for, if you know where to look.

Three is about to become FOUR.
