Persephone Unleashed Fall 2022 | Casitas Estate, California

Welp. This post is waaaaaaaaaay delayed. But oh how sweet it was going back through these images from last September!

I closed my 2022 retreat season with this beautiful circle of goddesses at The Casitas Estate in Arroyo Grande, CA. And what a circle it was.
We were fortunate enough to have a silversmith in our ranks, who opened our circle with an amulet workshop — where we got to piece together an amulet necklace with chosen crystals and elements.
(Do yourself a favor and check our her work and shop)

The weekend was rich with deep soul-dives, kindred conversation, creativity, glitter, crowns, laughter, and learning to live life unapologetically.
The POWER that emanated from these goddess’ photo shoots was electric.
But don’t take my word for it, see for yourself….

Persephone Unleashed | Summer Retreat

Ladies & gentlemen, we’ve done it again.

We’ve successfully escaped a society in the midst of a pandemic to connect with other humans and just LOVE on ourselves. And that, dear ones, is worth a standing ovation of applause. I am no fool — I know that stepping away from our life is HARD. Stepping away from our children, our jobs, our businesses, our home takes true commitment to ones wellness and mental health. And for that, I want to honor each and every woman who has made it happen for herself this past year and attended a Persephone Unleashed retreat. Bravo, madame.

That being said, I am over the moon to bring you the Persephone Unleashed Summer Retreat experience. Just after the Summer Solstice, 8 women gathered in the hills of Arroyo Grande. This retreats unspoken theme came to life in the form of Joy. We met each other in the mess, and danced ALL OVER IT.

We made flower crowns, did botanical face masks, and feasted under the stars. We stretched and expanded our capacity for joy. We were treated like queens, being pampered and served like true royalty. We laughed, skinny dipped, drank in the sweet nectar of life, and then laughed some more.

Summing these retreat into words feels impossible, so I’m grateful that my camera can speak for me instead.

Ocean Goddess – San Luis Obispo Boudoir

There once was a goddess with hair the color of burning embers.
Not many ocean goddesses could live with such fire, but she could.
You see, the two elements were often at odds and one would always destroy the other.
But this burning beauty had learned to dance with her adversity, instead of submitting to it.
And dance, she will.

Paso Robles Boudoir Session – Winged Goddess

There once was a goddess who had lost her way.
She was weighed down by things of her past, and couldn’t hear over the loudness of her own thoughts.
Unable to go any further, she began to thrash and scream.
In her shaking, she began to shed her skin.
As its heaviness fell to the earth, wings she didn’t know were even there unfurled themselves from her shoulder blades.
With tear stained cheeks and bright eyes, she took what felt like her first breath in ages.
And flew.

River Goddess – Paso Robles Boudoir Photographer

Allow me to tell you a story of the girl who found her light in a riverbed…

There once was a river goddess who had survived terrible things. You see, she had wandered into the desert where her light was stolen from her. Her body ached to feel the water on her skin again, but she didn’t know how to get back home. So she took a dark and uncertain path marked by a sign with the words “Bare Session” scrawled into the wood. She didn’t know where it would lead or what she would find there, but she lifted her chin and continued onward. Little did she know that she would meet a good witch named Sarah who would help her navigate the sands and dry reeds until they found the banks of the river, where they both soaked their skin and drank the good medicine of laughter between friends. And as the water ran over the river goddess’ skin, her soul was rehydrated and her light shone out through her eyes once more.
