A few months ago, I got to steal away to Big Sur with these two to commemorate their city hall wedding ceremony with some coastal portraits. The California coastline NEVER disappoints.

This girl is my sister.
Okay, she’s my cousin. But she’s my cousin in the way that she’s actually my sister.
And she decided she doesn’t need a special thing like a boyfriend or a wedding as an excuse to document her life as it is RIGHT NOW.
So she escaped the city for a few days and we went on a photo adventure, just like we used to when we were teenagers with freshly minted drivers licenses. It filled my heart to the brim, and my inspiration cup runneth over.
This feeling right here, the one you will see written all over her face and body language in these photos, THIS is why I’ve dreamed up the Persephone Unleashed retreat. It is for women who just want to connect with themselves, body and soul, in a new and exciting way. And you just don’t know how MAGICAL it is until you’ve done it.
“You can’t quarantine love” — the mantra of Richard & Nikki’s wedding.
Their original wedding plans were completely derailed by Covid-19, but they just hopped another track and kept on going. Their wedding 2.0 took place 2 blocks from their home in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, Ca. They set up proper social distancing stations for their small handful of guests, as well as two cameras to host 100+ virtual guests through Zoom. There was mezcal & burritos, masks & air hugs. And it was perfect. Just, perfect.
Sam & Stephanie got married back in February, right before the world got turned upside down.
We started at The Madonna Inn, and wandered over to Chamisal Vineyards for their intimate wedding ceremony amidst the wintery vines. And it was perfect.
