I have this friend, her name is Rhyan.
Her work is no stranger to this blog of mine, because she is the artist behind every mythological goddess in my Creatures Series.
She is currently in the throes of rebranding and redesigning her website, so we decided to get some babes together and play dress up. Rhyan is truly a wizard when it comes to hair and makeup. She creates the boldest, most stunning looks -- and it seems so effortless. She is creative through and through, and I am honored to count her among my friends.
Do yourself a favor and follow her on Instagram and Facebook so you can be the first to know when her new website launches, featuring even more photos from this gorgeous shoot!!!
Phoenix : a mythical bird that never dies, but is reborn time and time again from it's own ashes. the phoenix flies far ahead to the front, always scanning the landscape and distant space. it represents a capacity for vision, for collecting sensory information about our world and the events unfolding within it.
As my favorite season starts showing itself through falling leaves and changing weather, it could not be a more perfect time to share this wickedly fun inspiration shoot I dreamed up with some fellow creatives -- a styled shoot inspired by the mystical feels and dark vibes of Harry Potter.
If you know me at all, you know that I can often be found with my nose in a book. And not just any book, always some sort of fantastical fiction where my world melts away and I disappear into lands far away from here where magical things are possible. Like the enchanting world of Harry Potter.........
Allow me to introduce the badass team that brought this dream to life:
When I was a child, my bedtime stories were filled with woodland elves, giant spiders, black riders, hobbits, and all things Tolkien.
When I was in high school, I was often lost in my own world with my nose in a book or teaching myself a mythical language.
Though I am now an adult, I am still forever searching for ways to bring those magical lands to life through my lens.
So you can imagine my excitement when Colleen asked if I would want to bring Middle Earth to life in the form of a wedding inspiration shoot. And who else could possibly pose as our Elven lovebirds but my childhood best friend and muse, Quin, and her husband Tony?!
