Vanessa & Jonathan - California Engagement Photos

I make a lot of my decisions about people based on their sense of humor and capability of belly-laughs.
I don't know if I've ever met a couple who laughed as much during their engagement photos as these two, which leads me to believe we are going to get along juuuuuust fine.

Kodi & Gabrielle - Intimate Wedding - Cambria, Ca

One never knows quite what they're walking into when arriving to a wedding every weekend. Energy is always running high amidst the aroma of hair spray and mimosas. But the energy in Gabrielle's hotel room was different than I had ever felt. You see, this beautiful bride had suffered the inexplicable tragedy of a miscarriage that very morning. As a wedding photographer, I speak the language of story - and every love story asks to be told in it's own unique way. This was a love story I had never run into before -- the love story between parents and their unborn child, buried in the cliffside with a forever view of the Pacific Ocean. If there is one thing I have learned as a storyteller, it's that life is messy. But as the late, great Leonard Cohen sang, "There is a crack, a crack in everything. That's how the light gets in."

Gina & Garred - Los Osos Engagement Photos

"Marriage: an endless sleepover with your favorite weirdo."

They say to marry your best friend -- having been together the last 14 years, I think Garred & Gina got the best friend thing on LOCK.

Linden Clover | The Workshop - Tribe Edition

Once upon a time, I met a fellow photographer named Lindsey Gomes. From our friendship was born a vision of creating spaces for photographers to gather and stretch their creative muscles. Almost exactly 4 years ago, we hosted our very first workshop. We now call ourselves Linden Clover and are currently in the throes of planning our 4th and most magical workshop yet!!!

Our heart is to hold space for photographers to leave comparison at the door and enter into a place of friendship, inspiration, and creative renewal. Looking back on how our workshop has grown and transformed over the last 4 years, I cannot help to feel humbled and overwhelmed by gratitude.

The following images are from our most recent workshop in Fall of 2016. It was 3 days and 2 nights of delicious eats, wine grown in the surrounding hills, and laughter abundant. If your creative heart needs a breath of fresh air, or you find yourself in desperate need of a community you can count on to encourage you and challenge you for years to come --- THIS WORKSHOP IS FOR YOU. Don't overthink it. Your business needs it, and you have earned it.

Travis & Andrea - Carmel Engagement Photos

If Travis & Andrea's engagement shoot is any sort of omen as to how my 2018 wedding season is going to be -- I'm STOKED about it.

This is my last official "work" blog post of 2017. It's been real, but now I've got eggnog to drink and presents to wrap :)
