Top 3 Reasons I love Rick & Kelly:
#1 - they flew me all the way to Colorado just to document their wedding day. I mean, WHAT.
#2 - their love is so palpable, it makes my camera overheat (or maybe that was the 95 degree weather. either way.)
#3 - they got in a river for me. A RIVER.
Everybody has a "Person". This beautiful redhead happens to be MINE.
And last week, her amazing husband embarked his latest life adventure - Fire Academy. So we decided to celebrate and send him off with some new family photos (the likes of which we haven't done since she was pregnant with their youngest. almost 4 years ago).
You only get a handful of "soul mates" in this life. Lindsey is one of mine. Trevor is one of hers. And soon, she's going to meet her 3rd soul mate -- the little bundle of life-changing-ness in her womb. My eyes are seriously stinging with feels as I write this. You see, I met Lindsey 6 years ago when I desperately needed someone who understood this photography part of my life. She gets me in a way not even my HUSBAND does (which is why we have fondly coined the term "work wife" for one another). And in just 4 short weeks (give or take), she is not only going to join the mom club, but the "run a photography business from home while being a mom" club. And I am selfishly SO HAPPY to welcome another member. I love these two souls more than words can ever express, and I am over the moon to witness them make the transition into parenthood. They're going to be SO kickass at it.
I first met Max when we were both 16 years old, in our awkward teenage prime. He loved silly adventures, make believe, and had a sense of humor unlike anyone I had encountered in my short life -- therefore, we were fast friends. Fast forward 12 years -- we lost touch somewhere after high school, and since then so much of life has happened to both of us. Max moved to Japan and became a teacher, where one spring under the cherry blossoms, he met Sarah. And as the fate would have it, I had since become a wedding photographer -- bringing our paths to cross once again. The universe is quite the snarky, mischievous gal.
And so, Max & Sarah were married surrounded by salty sea air and the closest of their friends & family. She wore her grandmother's dress & crown, and he couldn't peel his eyes off her for a moment. The day couldn't have been more perfect - cozy overcast vibes during the day, with a sunset that set my heart on fire.
