Mattie + Trevor | Whisper Valley Ranch, Santa Margarita CA Intimate Wedding

May weddings continue on this path of simplicity, because I’m kind of in love with couples getting back to the roots of why they’re there in the first place.
Mattie & Trevor’s wedding was everything I love about intimate weddings: a gorgeous bride, a tearful groom, handmade dried floral centerpieces, a dress with wings, a taco truck, and s’mores.
Thank you, more please.

Sam + Chrisy | Paso Robles Backyard Intimate Wedding

If you haven’t already heard, I’ve switched to exclusively photographing intimate weddings (50 guests or less… with an exception here or there).

Sam & Chrisy’s wedding was confirmation that I’ve made the right choice. Everything about their backyard wedding was what I love about weddings — family, connection, and sun-drenched couples portraits. And I am smitten.

Traven + Liz | San Luis Obispo Intimate Wedding

If Covid has taught us anything, it’s to find gratitude in the unlikely places. It’s also taught us a great deal about flexibility, creativity, and what’s REALLY important. And know one feels these lessons greater than couples getting married this year.

After 12 years of photographing weddings, I thought I’d seen it all. I was very, very wrong.
The way couples get creative in having their wedding celebration despite the wrenches 2020 has been throwing like confetti — it inspires me to the core. Because at the end of the day, all you need is each other and a few loves ones to cheer when you share your first kiss as Mr. & Mrs. And a killer photographer to capture it, of course.

Ren & April – Paso Robles Wedding

There is something so incredibly special about backyard weddings. Every view, every room, every speck of dirt is personal.
Not to mention, even the dog gets to be in attendance!!!

Ryan & Colleen – Kauai Backyard Wedding

When I first looked up the weather forecast for my big weekend of weddings in Kauai (spoiler alert: this is wedding number one of TWO) and saw rain and thunder clouds across the board, my heart fell a little bit. But then I remembered that rain never fails to make for an epic wedding story and beautifully dramatic photos. Boy was I right.

Colleen is a dear friend and industry college of mine, and so when she asked me to photograph her intimate backyard wedding the same weekend I was already going to be in Kauai, I couldn’t say ‘YES’ fast enough. Ryan & Colleen make for a deadly cocktail of sarcasm, silly faces, and practical jokes – and their wedding was 100% true to THEM. From the first look surprise (just wait) to the relocation of dinner tables (you’ll see), their wedding day was truly one of a kind and I just wish I could do it over and over and over again.
