I'm not saying I didn't enjoy photographing pregnancy before I had a baby of my own, but compared to how greatly I love documenting this transition NOW versus THEN -- it is night and day. I consider it the highest honor to be invited into the last remaining moments of a couple's life before it is forever changed.
When I asked Sean & Stephanie what they were looking forward to most about being parents, they said, "We just can't wait to meet her, and see what she looks like."
Instantly, I was transported back to being 9 months pregnant feeling those same feels (minus the morning sickness, thank GOD) -- spending every waking thought wondering what kind of human being my daughter would be, and being so restless because I just couldn't wait to have her out of my body and into my arms.
I see pregnancy in an entirely different light now, and documenting this insane part of a couple's love story is even more powerful to me than ever before.
meet the Peet family -- Josh, April, Ellis and little Hadley (still growing).
there are few things more precious than a child who recognizes the fact that things are changing and she's about to become a big sister. I can't really get over how cute this little munchkin is or how darling this little family is. April also happens to be a WICKED amazing floral artistin the wedding industry I call home, so it was a huuuuuuuuge honor to be invited into their home to document this big shift in their life. needless to say, I am smitten.
