Almost two years ago, I had the honor of photographing Bruce & Erin’s wedding day.
So you can imagine the happy dance my heart did when they told me the news that they were expecting a baby.
Come March, Erin is going to be surrounded by 3 boys who love her more than a fat kid loves cake — Bruce, Tanner, and baby boy Drake!!!
I just adore this little family, and look forward to many photographic adventures with them over the coming years.

Levi & Emily

In May of 2010, I had the honor of capturing the beginning of Levi and Emily’s life together — their wedding day.
So I was overjoyed to hear that they are expecting a beautiful baby girl (who is due the day after MY birthday!)…. and that they wanted me to capture this precious time in their life.
They are so freakin’ precious, I can hardly stand it. I have a feeling this isn’t the last time you’ll be seeing their beautiful faces on this blog

Oh, where to begin….
Allow me to introduce you to my cousin Kelsey. She married her husband Chase 3 weeks before Josiah and I got married. This is them.
Whenever I talk about “my cousin Kelsey” I always have to explain that she’s not “just my cousin… she’s more like a sister.” Because “cousin” just doesn’t quite cut it.
We’ve grown up together. We’ve played make believe together… whether it was orphans running away from an evil headmistress or underpaid waitresses serving blocks as cheeseburgers. We fell in love together (… separately, of course). We planned our weddings together. We learned “marriage” together. And now she’s breaking off from the “together”ness to have a baby girl. I only WISH we were doing this together. Hopefully someday I’ll catch up with her and we can learn “parenting” together.
Last Summer, my darling sister moved across the country to Maryland where Chase was accepted into the Navy’s prestigious medical school. This is the farthest and longest we’ve ever been apart. This last week she flew home for her baby shower (stay tuned for pictures of that awesome party), and I was blessed with the opportunity to capture this precious time in her life. In a few months, I’ll be capturing the new and beautiful life of Ella Nadine Hughes. But for now, I’ll just photograph this darling baby girl while she’s still warm and curled up inside her mommy.

So we got to roam all over the Tanaka Farms pumpkin patch in Irvine for this shoot… and despite the warm temperatures, we had a grand ol’ time

You may be thinking “What kind of parents would name their child ‘Malice’?!?!?”…. and I’ll tell you: parents who have chosen to be surprised by the gender! It could be Max. It could be Alice. So for now…. it’s Malice.

Brianna & Baby Biberston

Ok. Part 2.

I first met Bri at a mutual friend’s wedding. I was the photographer and she was assisting the coordinator. Little did I know, she had been watching me work through the whole wedding. Come the end of the wedding, she asked me for my card. I thought she was just getting it for her boss…. I had no idea she was planning her own wedding and found my ninja-like work ethic very appealing. Long story short – I ended up shooting her wedding in May of 2009.

How could I have known that that would only be the beginning of one of the best friendships the world has ever seen. Bri and I instantly hit it off, and after numerous “Wine Wednesdays” it is safe to say that we will be friends till the end of time. Yeah, ok… her moving to Albuquerque, New Mexico has forced our lovely relationship into one of Long Distance…. but it’s all worth it. Anyyyyyyways, Bri is 38 weeks pregnant, and will be popping a baby out into the world any day now. I got to visit just in time to capture this precious time in their lives. They’ve chosen to be surprised by the sex of the baby… so we will just call the little blessing “Baby Biberston” (their last name) for now However, if you feel like throwing out a guess, I know they love hearing random people’s opinions!!!

Ok. I’m clicking “Publish” now because I know Bri is about to pass out due to anticipation.
